Glenn "Mike" Prax was born in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, and lives in North Pole, Alaska. Prax graduated from AE Lathrop High School in 1974. His career experience includes owning Prospector Outfitters and working as an operations technician with Alyeska Pipeline Service Company.

Representative Mike Prax is a member of the Alaska House of Representatives and is currently serving his second term in office. Before his current role, Prax held Seat G on the Fairbanks North Star Borough Assembly from 1997 to 20001. In January 2020,  His career experience includes owning Prospector Outfitters and working as an operations technician with Alyeska Pipeline Service Company. He was also the Interior Alaska coordinator for the election campaign of Gov. Mike Dunleavy

As of June 2020, Prax sits on the House Education and Energy committees. In the 2023-2024 term, Prax was assigned to the House Education Committee, House Health & Social Services Committee (as Chair), House Labor & Commerce Committee, Armed Services Committee, and Select Committee on Legislative Ethics (as Alternate).
